Bristol, Rocky Hill, Others Land $210K for Energy Pojects

The Connecticut Clean Energy Communities program awarded $210,000 in Bright Idea Grants for 23 municipalities to perform energy-saving projects.

The program is part of the Energize Connecticut initiative to get more municipalities, businesses, and residents to install energy efficiency measures and renewable energy. The grants are based on the communities’ results in reducing energy use and boosting renewable energy installations.

Bristol, New Britain, New Haven, Shelton, Waterbury, and West Haven each received $15,000 for a community-chosen energy project.

Brookfield, Cheshire, Rocky Hill, Suffield, Watertown, Windham, and Wolcott each received $10,000.

Ashford, Bridgewater, Chester, Coventry, Derby, Goshen, Litchfield, Old Saybrook, Sharon, and Thomaston each received $5,000.
